Beauty Pie... What is it and how does it work?

I started off the new year by trying out a new makeup membership service called Beauty Pie.  Beauty Pie was started by the same people who started Soap & Glory in the UK.  This is a very unique membership that allows you to purchase high quality makeup at factory costs.

So what does this mean for beauty lovers?  It means that for a low monthly membership of $10, you get access to makeup that is made in the same places that brands such as Dior, Chanel or YSL are made, but only pay a fraction of the cost!

How does it work?

You can browse the Beauty Pie makeup selection on their website.  On the website, it gives you two prices, the one you would pay if you were to buy an item in a store and the price you will pay as a member.  Here are some of the items that I got as a member in the month of January:

Great Skin Foundation (Light 300 Beige)

This foundation is a great medium coverage, build-able formula.  It dries down demi-matte and gives you a nice natural finish.  It is very comparable to my favorite Dior Forever Foundation, though I think the texture is a bit thinner than the Dior.  One layer covers a lot and two layers gives you a nice full coverage.  This is one of my favorite products from Beauty Pie!

The value of this is $48, but members pay $5.41.

Triple Beauty Liquid Luminizer (Golden Whirl)

I really like this cream highlighter.  I'm usually more drawn to powder highlights as I find a lot of cream highlights are too much of a hassle to put on or are just too thick and are hard to blend.  This liquid luminizer, however, has a nice whipped texture and is very soft and light.  You can use your fingers to gently dab to create a nice glow to your skin, or you can use a sponge and use it to strobe.  Either way, it's not too heavy, but is build-able if you want that really strobed out effect.

The value of this is $28, but members pay $2.89.

One Powder Wonder (Uberlucent Universal)

This finishing powder is amazing.  It gives you a nice natural finish while at the same time giving your skin a bit of luminosity.  It is supposed to blur your skin and get rid of the look of pores as well.  I think this powder is really nice and it's so finely milled that it's nice and soft.  It is comparable to the NARS Light Reflecting Powder.  I think these two products are almost identical.

This powder is valued at $30, but members pay $3.92.

Superglazy Lip Gloss (Brown Sugar)

I don't normally like lip gloss because I find them to be too sticky and messy as they get all of the place if you eat or drink anything.  I also just don't like the feel of having something thick over my lips.  This lip gloss, however, does not have that sticky consistency whatsoever!  It is actually a really nice formula and you can wear it over lipstick or on its own.  If I do wear lip gloss, I usually prefer to wear it with a lipstick on the center of my lips to create a fuller look.  However, I must say, that with this lip gloss I have been wearing it on its own and it's has just been really lovely.

The value of the lip gloss is $25, but members pay $2.30.

All in all, these products are definitely high quality.  They were not lying!  Since Beauty Pie just started back in December (I believe), they're slowly increasing their selection of items, so if you do check out their website and don't see a lot of options yet, don't be discouraged!  They have over 200 new items coming in 2017.  I can't wait to see what they are!  Check out my video below to see the products live!
