Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation and Foundation Stick Review!

I was recently received the Make Up For Ever #UltraHDGeneration Vox Box from Influenster to test out the new Ultra HD foundation stick as well as the Ultra HD foundation that's been around for a while now.  I've been wanting to try the foundation for a long time now, but haven't really gotten around to purchasing it, so was super excited when this came in the mail!

I received the Ultra HD Foundation in the shade 127 (Y335), which is the perfect shade for me.  This foundation is supposed to be light-weight and long-lasting, and boy, does it hold up to those claims!  I wore the foundation for a good 10 hours and it didn't break down, get oily or fade.  I do need to throw in that I primed my face with the Make Up For Ever mattifying primer, which probably helped, since I do get oily in the T-zone a lot.  However, that being said, I normally do prime my face with this primer anyway, and still get oily at the end of the day.

It really did feel as if nothing was on my skin for the entire day.  I really enjoyed the liquid foundation!

Now... onto the new Ultra HD Stick Foundation!  The one Influenster sent me was actually pretty dark for my skin tone (I'm not sure why it didn't match the liquid foundation?), in the shade 128 (Y415). Nevertheless, it is a good foundation.

My favorite thing about the stick foundation is how easily it applies and how fast your makeup routine is by using this.  All you do is glide the stick over your face with a few strokes, and then blend it in with your foundation brush (you can also use your sponge or Beauty Blender).  Easy peasy and then conceal and powder.  It seriously cut my foundation application time by half.

The Ultra HD foundation stick, unfortunately, is not as long lasting as the regular Ultra HD liquid foundation.  I felt like half way through my day, my face got really oily (I also used the same Make Up For Ever mattifying primer), and by the end of the day, the foundation was almost non-existent.  The texture of the foundation stick is definitely a more oily than the liquid.  I guess it being a solid, it needs to be smoother in texture in order for it to glide on your face, so naturally, it's going to be a bit more slick.

Though I like the ease of application of the stick foundation, I felt that the good ol' liquid foundation still did a better job overall and held up to it's claims.

Check out my vlog below and see how the liquid foundation wears throughout the day.
