Marc Jacobs Nail Polish - Hot or Not?

Wine Not (L) and Petra (R)

Marc Jacobs' nail polishes are definitely a NOT.  At $18 per bottle, these polishes chip like crazy!  I think they lasted all of 3 days max before massive pieces started to peel off.  I tried these on with different base and top coats, and they all seem to do the same thing.  I tried two incredibly gorgeous shades, Wine Not (Sephora VIB Rouge exclusive color) and Petra.  I LOVE the colors.  The colors look amazing, but it's the formulation that I have a problem with.  I don't like having my nail polish last only 3 days when it takes so long to do them.

This is what Petra looked like at the end of day 2, so it didn't even make it to day 3:

I have never seen a polish chip in large chunks like that.  Well, not true... my Barry M polish that I bought in England for all of £3 (about $5), did this.  But that was $5.  This Marc Jacobs polish is $18!  I thought... "Okay, maybe it's just this color."  So the following week I tried Wine Not.  This is what it looked like on Day 3... it made it one day further than Petra:

Wine Not was slightly better, but it still peeled off in large chunks.  I would not recommend this polish to anyone.  I think it's fine if you like the colors and you just want to wear it for a special occasion, because it won't last much past your event!  However, again, at $18, it's probably not worth the money when you can find some dupes at the drugstore that will last longer.

Have you tried Marc Jacobs' polishes?  Leave me a comment below and let me know if you experienced anything different.
