September Stitch Fix Unboxing... and I'm doing a GIVEAWAY!

This month I am doing a giveaway for two $50 gift cards to Stitch Fix.  All you need to do is watch the unboxing video below and give it a thumbs up, subscribe to my YouTube channel and comment in the video which item is your favorite this month!

The giveaway is open only to U.S. residents right now since Stitch Fix is only available in the U.S. at this time.  Winners will be selected on September 15.  Good luck!

If you don't have time to watch the video, here is what I got this month.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take pictures with the clothes on.  The day I was trying these on and filming the video, it was about 98 degrees and I couldn't wait to get out of the clothes!

Lucerne Halter Blouse by Renee C ($44)

I really liked this tank on and it was very flattering.  Unfortunately, the top of the blouse was a bit tight and didn't feel comfortable.  I probably could've made this work, but at $44, I didn't want to spend that much on something that was a bit snug.  If this was a size larger, I would've kept it!

Verdict: Returned

Bash Anza Sweetheart Neck Lace Blouse ($44)

When I took this out of the box, I thought this camisole looked like lingerie.  It also looks very sheer and the back of the cami was really low.  Surprisingly, when I put it on, it looked amazing!  Only problem?  It was WAY too small.  I got it on and BARELY was able to get it off.  It's unfortunate because I really liked this one and thought it would've been nice with the Kensie jacket I got a few fixes ago.

Verdict: Returned

Sugar Dot Print Dress by 41Hawthorn

This was my favorite item this month!  This dress fit so well on me and is incredibly comfortable.  I like that the top of the dress is slightly pleated and the bottom is flared like a skater dress.  This would be a great summer or fall dress and would look nice with a black cardigan and patent black pumps!  It would also work nicely by itself with any type of colored shoes!  I love it!

Verdict: Kept

Luisa Printed Pencil Skirt by Pixley

As I loved the last item, I absolutely hated this one.  This is totally not my style and it was pretty long on me.  It went past my knees and the material just clung to me like static.  The stylist had told me to pair this with the Bash camisole, and it looked nice together, but just not on me.

Verdict: Returned

Market & Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee

The material on this t-shirt is incredibly soft, comfortable and versatile.  This is a great shirt for casual weekends or I can pair it with some nice pants and heels to dress it up.  I don't have these, but it would also look nice with a pair of feux leather jeans!

Verdict: Kept

All in all, I thought this was a good fix, though I only kept two items.  Aside from the horrid skirt, the style was actually pretty on par!  To be fair, the skirt was nice.  It just wasn't a skirt that was right for my body type!  I give this fix an overall 4 out of 5.  Remember to watch my YouTube video in order to participate in the giveaway!

Sephora and NARS Haul!

I recently went to my very first Sephora VIB Rouge event, the Beauty Before Brunch event that took place on Sunday, August 2nd.  It was basically a private shopping event and they had makeover stations and free breakfast.  I bought a bunch of stuff at the event since they were giving away 4x Sephora points for anything you purchased that day.

At the same time, my friend hooked me up with a massive discount on some NARS products, since her husband works Shiseido, which is NARS' parent company, and some of those items came in this week that I'm super excited to share with you all.  Enjoy the video!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

I just got the new Too Faced Born This Way Foundation last week.  I've used it a few times now, and I think I've found my new favorite foundation!  It is light-weight, has great coverage, hydrating and lasts all day!  The foundation is oil-free and has coconut water for all-day hydration.  I have combination skin with a T-zone that can get pretty oily and this foundation does a great job at keeping the oiliness in check.

The longest I've worn this foundation was for about 14 hours, and at the end of the day, it still looked intact.  There was a bit of break up on my nose area, but I really started noticing it after about 8 hours!  The best thing about this foundation is the coverage.  I've used this without any concealer and it's covered up a lot of my hyper pigmentation and blemishes.  This product claims to be medium to full coverage and it delivers.  One layer of application will definitely give you medium coverage and you can build this up to a full coverage foundation.  I've also noticed that this foundation gives your overall complexion a milky smooth finish.  Most full coverage foundations start to feel heavy and cakey after a few hours, but this one remains completely light weight!

Here are my before and after photos:

I did not use any concealer, but did apply two layers of the foundation with a slight dusting of Nars' Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder to set the foundation.  My hyper pigmentation and redness is all covered up and my complexions smoothed out.  All this with no concealer!  Also in this light makeup look, I used Nars' blush in Orgasm, Smashbox's Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Filter, and L'Oreal's Le Matte Lip Pen in She's So Matte is on my lips.  Simple weekend makeup!

I would absolutely recommend this foundation if you are looking for something that is light-weight but also provides amazing coverage.  I can't say enough great things about this!

August 2015 Stitch Fix Review

It's my favorite time of month again... Stitch Fix unboxing time!  I always look forward to receiving my Stitch Fix box in the mail at the beginning of each month.  This month the fix actually came a few days early, so of course, I couldn't wait to open it.  This month's video is a bit different since I already opened everything a few days back, but check out all the awesome things I got this month!  This was truly my favorite fix to date!

The items that I got this month are:

  • Everly Dixon Scallop Trim Dress
  • Luna Lace Detail Blouse by Daniel Rainn
  • Makridge Crew Neck Top by Olive & Oak
  • Sweet Grey Jafar Peplum Back Cardigan
  • Kut from the Kloth Kate Boyfriend Jeans
I loved every single item this month and it's the first time I've kept all five items.  As a reminder, if you keep all five items, you get a 25% discount off the entire fix.  Even one item that I was iffy about, the Kut from the Kloth jeans, I kept because it was essentially free with the discount!

Everly Dixon Scallop Trim Dress ($64)

Okay - I know I need to tan my legs... no judgments!
I loved this dress!  I think it has a flattering shape and it looks just like the scallop trim dress I got back in my April Stitch Fix that I liked, but didn't keep because I would wear a pencil skirt that often.  This is a great alternative!

Olive & Oak Makridge Crew Neck Top ($58) with Kut from the Kloth Kate Boyfriend Jeans ($78)

This top was amazingly comfortable and fit well!  You can't see it, but it has about ten small hooks on that back of the shirt to hook it up!  So cute!  The jeans look great, but I was iffy about it at first since it's a bit long on me.  However, if I put heels on,  as you can see, it's not a problem.

Sweet Grey Jafar Peplum Back Cardigan ($68) with the Luna Lace Detail Blouse from Daniel Rainn ($64) and Kate Boyfriend Jeans

I think this whole outfit just looks great.  The colors look nice together and the items layer nicely!  The cardigan has a peplum back that looks great and the materials are super comfortable.  The blouse is a great weekend or work blouse... so versatile!

This fix was my absolute favorite.  I was incredibly delighted by every single item in this shipment!  Needless to say, I'm keeping everything, which is a first for me.  I actually didn't think that this day would happen due to the last couple ones being hit or miss.  Stitch Fix has really stepped it up this time!
