LookFantastic Beauty Box

I recently got a three month subscription for a LookFantastic Beauty Box.  The LookFantastic box is just like any other beauty box subscription such as Birchbox.  The only difference, for me, is that the LookFantastic is British and has mainly European products that we don't get here in the US.  I was going to try Birchbox, but everyone gets Birchbox and, honestly, I just wanted to be different.  Check out my video review of my June LookFantastic box.  Leave me a comment if you want to see what I got in previous months as well!

Bioderma Crealine H2O vs. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

On my recent European trip, I came back with two different types of micellar water: the famous Bioderma Crealine H2O, which is only found in France, and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.  For those of you who haven't tried micellar water, since we don't really have these in the US, it's a MUST try!  I believe the only micellar water I've seen in American drugstores have been the ones by Simple.  Honestly, I've tried Simple's micellar water before and didn't like it at all.  It barely took off any of my makeup, so I was reluctant to buy anything other than Bioderma, which has been raved about by tons of people.

I found a bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water at Boots in London and decided to grab a small bottle of it to compare against the Bioderma.  I had doubts about the Garnier due to my experience with the Simple Micellar Water, but decided to give it a shot since it was a new product in the UK.  Here's what I found:

  • These two micellar waters are very comparable!
  • Both removed my makeup, though the Bioderma probably took off more at once than the Garnier.  I had to go back with another cotton pad with both products, but the Garnier left more makeup on the cotton pad the second time.
  • The ONLY difference is that the Bioderma was gentler on my skin.  I felt a slight (and I mean very slight) stinging sensation with the Garnier.

As you can see from the photo, both products worked well.  I definitely still prefer the Bioderma as it was gentler on my skin, but I would not hesitate to pick up another bottle of the Garnier water the next time I'm in the UK again!
